I invite you to join me, and tag along, as I explore the magic of Canada's most beautiful forests and photographing wildlife in the Yukon. In this quiet wilderness, I will take you on paths less walked by others, capturing awe-striking scenery and surprising moments with fascinating wild animals.

About Me

I was born and raised in Austria and emigrated to the Yukon, Canada, in my mid-twenties. I moved straight to the bush from the city and lived for about 12 years off the grid by a small lake.

I call those years some of the best of my life as I acquired lasting gratitude for things I took for granted, such as running water, a sewer system, electricity, and fuel for heat. Life at the lake taught me to enjoy and embrace simplicity and solitude.

How it all Started...

Little did I know that when I started taking pictures in my late teens, this was the beginning of a  lifelong passion. My four-legged furry family members provided endless photo opportunities. I immensely enjoyed taking pictures.

My younger sister was my assistant and showed endless patience in sparking the animals' attention using squeaky toys, treats, flags, or making funny noises or movements; she had an extensive repertoire of getting any animal into a flattering pose. Eventually, my photography extended to wildlife, plants, landscapes, and almost everything encountered in nature, and I started carrying my camera on my walks or hikes.

Putting myself out there was a scary thought but also exciting; however, here I am, and I hope my photos and stories also bring joy and inspiration to you.

What this work means to me

Capturing pictures connects me with nature on a deeper level. When I gaze through the photo lens, I become part of my environment, and the limitation of time ceases. My mental and physical health, creativity, and emotional well-being always get a boost when immersed in nature.

Naturally, sharing my images and taking people on virtual hikes to share the experience means a lot to me. It encourages me to create new content and use my love for storytelling; it sharpens my writing prowess and computer skills. However, the most fantastic part is that I can share my passions with other nature lovers worldwide.
